Maulana Abdul Waheed Rehmani (1885-1976).
Maulana Abdul Waheed Rehmani was a prominent muslim scholar, educationist and freedom fighter. He was born in 1885 in a well off family of MobarakPur, Simri Bakhtiyarpur , Saharsa, Bihar. He started taking part in the anti British struggle right from the partition of Bengal and remained active till the achievement of freedom. He played a very active role in the Quit India movement of 1942 in which his property was damaged and looted.
He was a firm believer Hindu Muslim unity and strongly rejected the demand of creation of Pakistan. He had to bear the brutality of the police.
He was offered the ministerial berth in the cabinet of Shri Krishna Sinha( Former chief minister of Bihar) but he declined the offer. As an educationist his greater contribution is the foundation of Madarsa Islamia Mehmoodia, MobarakPur in 1924.

Rafiq Sahab of MobarakPur.
Aseer Sahab of Khurasan.
Some of them could find their name be incribed on the memorial stone of freedom fighters at Simri Bakhtiyarpur block.
